About this role

To advance the organisation's policy objectives through the delivery of high-quality research, analysis, and insights. The role will support the coordination of the organisation's EU and international policy activities, monitor relevant legislative and policy developments, and contribute to the preparation of research papers, briefings, and submissions to inform strategic engagement and advance the interests of the profession. This is a hands-on role within a dynamic team, reporting directly to the Communications & Public Affairs Director. The Officer will support policy, research, and EU and international policy work across a diverse range of priorities within the policy and public affairs function. Note - The interview process will run with two in person rounds of interview occurring on 3-4th September and 22- 23rd Sept 2026 Research and Insights Conduct high-quality research to inform policy positions, consultation responses, and strategic projects. This will include analysing expert reports, monitoring the work of European and international bodies, reviewing comparative approaches in other jurisdictions, and synthesising both quantitative and qualitative data. Undertake ongoing parliamentary and legislative monitoring, including tracking debates, the progression of legislation, reform initiatives, and public consultations, primarily at domestic level, with engagement at EU level as required. Identification and development of relevant data sources to support policy output. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of sectoral and professional developments. Stakeholder Engagement & Committee Support Coordinate our EU and International policy work through engagement with CCBE and IBA committees, responding to information requests and submissions. Support the work of committees, working groups, and Council by assisting in agenda-setting, preparing materials, and coordinating policy and public-facing outputs. Policy Development and Analysis Draft clear and effective written materials, including submissions, briefings, correspondence, articles, newsletters, and digital content, tailored to a range of internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the development and delivery of public affairs and policy initiatives, including supporting campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. Provide regular updates and insights to the Director on policy developments and stakeholder activity. Public Affairs Support Draft articles, reports, policy updates, and member communications as required. Assist in the development and implementation of Communications & Public Affairs campaigns. Undertake additional duties as required to support the objectives of the Communications and Public Affairs function.
