The purpose of an Apprentice Pharmacy Technician role is to develop the skills, knowledge, and professional competence required to safely prepare, dispense, and supply medications under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term Apprentice Agreement for 24 months due to this being an apprenticeship/training program. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts.
A learner/applicant must be a UK, EEA, or EU resident for at least the past three years to undertake an apprenticeship training program.
Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager. If this post is offered on a secondment basis, staff will continue with their existing late-night, bank holiday and weekend commitments.

A Pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician apprentice role offers an excellent earn while you learn opportunity, combining practical workplace experience with a Level 3 training program that leads to qualification as a registered healthcare professional.
Working under direct supervision, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to support the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy services.
This contract is designed to give you a set of competencies, work experience and a qualification that could lead to employment within the pharmaceutical sector.
You will complete a 24-month training program and as part of your apprenticeship you will study the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
The post holder should hold 4 x GCSEs at grade C, 4 or higher including Maths, English and x1 Science. Functional Skills for Maths and English are alternative qualifications.
Applicants MUST have the required minimum qualifications and will be asked to email photos of original certificates before interview,(predicted grades for school leavers on official letter headed school/college paper) and be available from September 26.
You will need to be highly committed and self-motivated and to demonstrate excellent work/life/study balance skills.
