An opportunity has arisen for a Nurse, Social Worker or OccupationalTherapist to join the Blackburn & Darwen Community Mental Health Team. You must be a motivated individual, committed to promoting recovery and well-being for our service users as part of our multi-disciplinary team. Excellent communication skills are essential for the role. Previous experience of Community Mental Health work is desirable.
Blackburn with Darwen Community Mental Health Team are seeking to appoint a Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner.
Main duties of the job
This post provides the opportunity for a forward thinking and experienced individual to develop and implement safe, sound and supportive services that embrace the provision of holistic care.
With a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary working and the principles laid out in the Recovery Model, you will need to be an innovative thinker and be able to form effective relationships.
You must be a registered mental health practitioner, with excellent leadership and clinical skills.
You must have some post qualification experience in clinical work with service users experiencing a range of mental health problems.
You need to be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and haveexperience of planning, implementing and reviewing care needs.
You will also need to have a working knowledge of the care programmeapproach (CPA), Dialog+, risk assessment and management, and the ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social needs on mental health and well-being.

Qualifications Essential
Registered Mental Health nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with on-going Professional Registration. Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
Knowledge Essential
Understanding of health and safety policies and procedures Knowledge and practice of Mental Health Act 1983 Can provide evidence of recent professional development
Experience Essential
Willingness to participate in mentor and preceptorship process in respect of own practice.
Skills Essential
Able to demonstrate and understand the concept of community care and the need to develop good networks. Good interpersonal skills Developed clinical skills Can demonstrate communication skills through practice and experience
