About this role

Job summary

The children and young people's ADHD and ASD team offer detailed and comprehensive diagnostic assessments for neurodevelopmental conditions in children and young people; Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The post holder will help to support and enhance the professional psychological care and assessment of clients within the service, across all sectors of care; providing observational, psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will contribute to the assessment ( neurodevelopmental assessments and observations) and research activities of the CYPAAS working under supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, but will also be encouraged to develop their clinical skills ( group and individual work) will be part of a highly experienced team and we are looking for people with good verbal and written communication skills as well as good organisational skills. Applicants should possess a good Honours degree in Psychology ( 1st or high 2 :1), preferably have experience of working with children and/or adults with developmental conditions, and previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist would also be an advantage. The post require substantial amount of travelling across the county of Northamptonshire and possession of a driving licence and own transport is therefore essential.
