Position Description: Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions: Teaches face-to-face and/or online undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Teacher Education Department of the College of Education.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience teaching and/or working in a higher education institution • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively • Use of strong and positive communication skills within a professional setting, exhibit disposition for technology use, collaboration, and school-based initiatives • Administrative experience at the campus, district, or IHE level, and a commitment to earning a terminal degree at Texas Tech (if not already earned). • Current or recent state teaching certifications (Texas preferred).

About the Department/School/Area: The Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education at Texas Tech University is seeking a dynamic educator to serve as a part-time instructor in the innovative Tech Teach program. Tech Teach, is a district-based, undergraduate teacher preparation program designed to serve as a “talent pipeline” for partner districts. The program is clinically intensive, competency-based, and focused on measurably improving student achievement. Tech Teach will focus on the preparation and certification of undergraduate teacher candidates for teaching in K-12 classrooms.

Faculty Qualifications: • Master's degree in Education related field. • Record of 3 years of successful teaching as the teacher of record in American public schools.
