About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our Individual Giving and Supporter Care programme, helping to maximise sustainable income that enables Barnsley Hospice to continue providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care across our community.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will lead the Individual Giving Team and oversee a varied portfolio including regular giving, hospice lottery, direct mail appeals, supporter care, legacy and in-memory fundraising. You will develop innovative fundraising campaigns, strengthen supporter journeys and ensure our supporters receive an outstanding experience at every stage of their relationship with the Hospice.

You will also manage campaign performance, monitor income and expenditure, use our CRM to analyse campaign success, and identify opportunities to grow long-term supporter engagement and income.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and develop the Individual Giving Team through effective leadership and performance management. Develop and deliver an ambitious Individual Giving strategy to maximise sustainable income. Manage fundraising campaigns including Lottery, Direct Mail, Regular Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising. Develop engaging supporter journeys to improve supporter retention and repeat giving. Monitor campaign performance, budgets and KPIs, reporting regularly to the Head of Fundraising. Maintain excellent supporter care and ensure an exceptional supporter experience. Build strong relationships with external suppliers and fundraising partners. Use the Hospice CRM to analyse campaign performance, produce reports and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key duties & responsibilities

1. To lead, manage and inspire the Individual Giving Team, by undertaking regular one-to- ones, appraisals and performance reviews of any team members, to ensure they meet their SMART objectives and income targets

2. To report monthly on Individual Giving income and expenditure to the Head of Fundraising, providing commentary and mitigation plans as required.

3. To lead and manage a selection of fundraising campaigns to achieve and exceed set KPIs.

4. To continually develop all campaign product supporter journeys to ensure they improve supporter retention rates & improve repeat gift rates.

5. To develop and implement the Individual Giving fundraising campaign strategy which enables Barnsley Hospice to meet its strategic objectives.

6. Utilise our CRM database, create and edit records, manage mailings, record communications, produce reports and extract information as and when required.

7. To use the CRM to accurately report the success and learnings of all campaigns.

8. To lead on the implementation of the In Memory and Legacy strategy.

9. Maintain strong working relationships with all third party contacts, including Lottery and Direct Mail providers.

10. Lead the Barnsley Hospice lottery through transformational growth with a focus on retention and compliance.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Demonstrable experience working in an Individual Giving charitable fundraising role Experience delivering fundraising campaigns including lottery, regular giving and direct mail Experience leading, managing and developing teams through growth and change Experience producing budgets, monitoring income performance and managing financial targets Experience managing supporter engagement activities and supporter journeys Experience working to income targets and delivering measurable fundraising results

Desirable

Experience developing and managing legacy fundraising programmes Experience delivering in-memory fundraising activity Experience using data insights to improve fundraising campaigns and supporter retention Experience working within a hospice, healthcare charity or similar not-for-profit environment

Qualifications Essential

GCSEs (Grade AC) or equivalent in English and Maths

Desirable

Relevant fundraising, marketing, business or management qualification
