We are looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to take operational leadership responsibility across two GP practices in Northamptonshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established Practice Manager, Deputy Practice Manager or experienced healthcare operations professional who is ready to take ownership of the day-to-day running of two practices and play a key role in their continued development.

You will work closely with GPs, clinicians, administrative teams and wider primary care colleagues to ensure both practices operate effectively, efficiently and with a strong focus on patient experience.

As Dual-Site Practice Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across both practices, ensuring that the practices remain well organised, compliant, financially sustainable and focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

Job description Job responsibilities

Providing effective day-to-day operational management across two GP practices. Leading, supporting and developing multidisciplinary administrative and non-clinical teams. Managing recruitment, induction, performance, absence and staff development. Supporting workforce planning and ensuring appropriate staffing levels across both sites. Working closely with GP Partners, clinicians and senior colleagues to deliver practice objectives. Monitoring practice performance, activity and key operational KPIs. Supporting financial management, budget monitoring and effective resource utilisation. Maintaining robust governance, policies and procedures across both sites. Ensuring compliance with relevant CQC requirements, NHS standards, employment legislation and practice policies. Supporting the practice with CQC preparation, inspections and ongoing regulatory compliance. Maintaining effective systems for safeguarding, information governance, health and safety and risk management. Supporting patient engagement and responding appropriately to complaints, feedback and concerns. Identifying opportunities to improve processes, patient access and the overall patient experience. Working collaboratively with PCNs, ICBs, community services and other external stakeholders. Leading and implementing service and operational improvements across both practices. Ensuring effective communication between the two sites and promoting consistency in processes and standards.This role would suit an experienced Practice Manager who enjoys being hands-on, visible and involved in the wider development of a practice.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Previous experience in a Practice Manager, Deputy Practice Manager, Operations Manager or equivalent healthcare management role. Strong knowledge of the operational requirements of General Practice. Experience managing and developing teams. An understanding of CQC regulations, NHS contractual requirements and primary care governance. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build effective working relationships with clinicians, staff, patients and external stakeholders.

Desirable

A proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges. The ability to work confidently across two sites and manage competing priorities. A genuine commitment to improving patient experience and quality of care.
