Band 7 Team Lead - Medical Specialities Therapy Team
Band 7 - 0.8 permanent post (part time considered)
per annum, pro rata
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join us as a Team Lead. The therapist will be expected to work closely alongside their clinical lead colleagues to promote effective team working and service delivery. This role will provide an opportunity to expand on leadership and team development skills with support from fellow band 7 team lead colleagues across the service and operational management.

We have an innovative service of AHP's with an excellent staff supervision system enabling our staff to be committed to developing both their service and them. Clinical Governance, research and audit activities are encouraged within the service.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work flexibly over 7 days, alongside highly experienced therapists, assistant practitioners and therapy assistants, nurses and medics across; acute medical wards covering cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, general medicine, haematology and oncology. They will also provide leadership support to staff working in Respiratory Outpatients, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Community COPD services. This is an opportunity to work in the dynamic setting of a busy acute hospital to optimise the patient journey and provide high quality, responsive care to make a real difference to people's lives.
A flexible approach to day-to-day tasks is essential to meet the demands of the 7 day service. The successful candidate will join the rota and will work 5 days a week over the 7 days that the service is provided. The team hours cover an extended service 8am to 6pm, delivered through flexible working patterns and on a rota basis.

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

The successful candidate will:
Be at least 5 years post graduate Have significant experience as a senior therapist Have specialist knowledge and skills in rehabilitation care Have experience of leading and or participating in service development Demonstrate effective communication skills Be committed to the delivery of quality care as part of the multi-disciplinary team Provide a holistic patient intervention. The ideal applicant will be expected to actively participate in shaping future developments within the service as it continues to grow. They will demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others, and have a clear vision of the role and a commitment to the team. They will have clinical, operational and governance leadership of the team as well as having line management responsibility for the team of clinical staff. The successful candidate will be expected to provide supervision to senior therapists within the team.
Current HCPC registration is essential. Interviews, medicals and DBS checks will be made prior to acceptance.
The successful candidate will have a valid DBS check with the Trust and will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from their first salary.
