About this role

Job summary

Are you a motivated, enthusiastic registered physiotherapist wishing to work in a busy Acute Trust?

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is looking for registered physiotherapists or soon to graduate physiotherapists to join our Band 5 Rotational Team.

You will have the opportunity to rotate every 6 months, through core and specialist clinical areas including: Orthopaedics, Frailty, Acute Medicine/Surgery & Critical Care, Wessex Regional Rehabilitation Service, Stroke Unit, Paediatrics, Burns & Plastic Surgery and Spinal Cord Injuries.

You will develop a wide range of clinical experience and be supported with your professional and personal development by our friendly therapy teams.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients across a range of clinical settings (including Orthopaedics, Frailty, Acute Medicine/Surgery & Critical Care, Wessex Rehabilitation Services, Stroke Unit, Paediatrics, Burns & Plastic Surgery and Spinal Cord Injuries.)

The post holder will participate in the 7-day working rotas and out-of-hours on call rotas when they have the appropriate experience.

The post holder will have good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, necessary for working with patients, carers and the wider multi-professional team.

The post holder will work within their professional code of practice and guidelines.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Has BSc or MSc Degree in Physiotherapy Due to qualify with BSC or MSc in Physiotherapy this year HCPC registration

Desirable

HCPC registration pending

Experience Essential

Evidence of NHS experience at undergraduate or post graduate level Experience of a broad range of inpatient physiotherapy undergraduate placements or previous rotational experience Experience working in an outpatient physiotherapy environment (undergraduate or post graduate) Evidence of experience of discharge planning or supporting discharge from an acute environment

Desirable

Experience of working in an acute inpatient healthcare environment Experience of previous NHS inpatient work.

Knowledge & Skills Essential

Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills Evidence of good interpersonal skills and multi-professional team working Evidence of ability to reflect on own practice Evidence of participation in relevant courses, formal and informal CPD

Desirable

Evidence of ability to prioritise Evidence of sound clinical reasoning ability Understanding of discharge planning processes and requirements Understanding of current NHS climate and pressures
