Job Description:
Main Responsibilities
• Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations (abdomen, pelvis, obstetrics, small parts, breast, thyroid, vascular, musculoskeletal) according to approved protocols and physician requests, ensuring high diagnostic quality.
• Produce, evaluate, and submit sonographic images with accurate labelling, documentation, and prompt forwarding to radiologists for reporting.
• Prepare, assess, and educate patients by obtaining relevant history, explaining procedures, ensuring comfort and privacy, and providing safe patient handling throughout the examination.
• Identify abnormal or urgent findings and escalate promptly to the radiologist or consultant for immediate attention.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment through daily checks, proper handling, minor troubleshooting, and timely escalation of technical issues to Biomedical Engineering or vendors.
• Ensure strict infection prevention and control for all ultrasound rooms, probes, gel warmers, and related patient-contact equipment.
• Plan and manage workflow and scheduling to ensure efficient patient movement, reduced waiting time, and smooth daily operations within the ultrasound unit.
• Document and charge ultrasound procedures accurately, including consumables used, ensuring completeness for both routine and on-call cases.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, patient-centered care and safe clinical operations.
• Support and guide junior sonographers, radiographers, and students, ensuring proper technique, adherence to protocols, and professional conduct.

Requirements:
Education:
• Minimum a Diploma in Medical Imaging or equivalent with Advance Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography.
• Registered under Act 304 and Allied Health Professions Act 774..
Knowledge and Experiences:
• Sonographer: Minimum 1 year clinical ultrasound experience.
• Has completed clinical training; hands on practice during an accredited sonography program or externship.
• Demonstrates strong clinical knowledge in human anatomy and physiology, ultrasound physics, and pathology, enabling accurate differentiation of normal and abnormal anatomical structures during diagnostic imaging.
• Familiar with Medical terminology
