Job Summary The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising safe, comprehensive fitness and conditioning programs for high school student-athletes across various sports. The primary goal of this position is to enhance athletic performance, build functional strength and endurance, improve athletic speed and agility, and reduce the risk of sports-related injuries in a structured, positive environment. Key Responsibilities Program Design & Coaching
• Individualized & Sport-Specific Training: Develop year-round or seasonal strength, conditioning, speed, and agility programs tailored to the needs of high school student-athletes.
• Technique & Safety Instruction: Teach proper lifting mechanics, exercise techniques, and movement fundamentals to prevent injuries and promote long-term physical development.
• Session Leadership: Direct and supervise group training sessions during designated hours (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 3:45 PM – 5:30 PM).
Facility & Equipment Supervision
• Safe Operations: Oversee the weight room and athletic conditioning areas to maintain a safe, disciplined, and encouraging environment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all weight room equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and organized before and after training sessions.
Collaboration & Communication
• Athletic Department Coordination: Work closely with head coaches and the Athletic Director to align conditioning programs with team schedules and sport-specific needs.
• Athlete Engagement: Encourage positive sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, and healthy wellness habits among student-athletes.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field preferred.
• Certifications:
• First Aid / CPR / AED Certification (Required).
• NSCA-CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), USA Weightlifting (USAW), or NASM certification preferred.
• Experience: Previous coaching or training experience working with high school student-athletes or collegiate athletic programs preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, leadership ability, passion for youth athletics, and a strong commitment to student safety.
