Position Summary: Fremont-Mills Community School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered 5–12 Instrumental Music / Elementary Music Teacher for the upcoming school year. This position includes elementary general music instruction and instrumental music (band) for grades 5–12. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices, a passion for music education, and the ability to build a positive and engaging music program that supports students of all ability levels.
Additional Job Information Responsibilities: Elementary Music (K-6, as assigned): -Deliver engaging, standards-based general music instruction -Introduce foundational music concepts, rhythm, melody, and performance skills -Plan and coordinate elementary music programs/performances 5–12 Instrumental Music (Band): -Direct beginning, junior high, and high school band programs -Plan and conduct rehearsals and performances -Prepare students for concerts, contests, and community events -Foster student growth in musicianship, discipline, and teamwork General Expectations: -Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment -Collaborate with staff, administration, and families -Support district and state music standards -Manage music inventory, equipment, and scheduling Qualifications: -Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate music endorsement -Strong classroom management and instructional skills -Ability to build and grow a comprehensive music program -Effective communication and organizational skills Contract Information: -Full-time teaching position -Salary and benefits per negotiated master contract -Reports to the Building Principal Application Process: Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume, and references via email to: Corey Erps, high school principal, [email protected] Allyson Forney, elementary principal, [email protected] Applications will be reviewed as they are received until the position is filled.
