About this role
As a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the credit function within our organization. Your primary focus will be on evaluating and approving credit applications, conducting thorough credit analyses, and making informed decisions to mitigate risks. You will work closely with our clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored credit solutions. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless credit process and maintain accurate records.
• Evaluate and approve credit applications, considering financial statements, credit history, and other relevant factors. • Conduct comprehensive credit analyses to assess the creditworthiness of applicants and identify potential risks. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of credit applications, approvals, and rejections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with timely updates and guidance throughout the credit process. • Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure consistent and accurate credit decision-making, adhering to internal policies and procedures. • Monitor and analyze credit trends, identifying potential areas of improvement and implementing strategies to enhance credit operations. • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit management to ensure our processes remain efficient and compliant. • Provide support and guidance to junior credit officers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. • Prepare periodic reports on credit performance, including approval rates, rejection reasons, and other relevant metrics. • Assist in developing and implementing credit policies and procedures to align with the company's strategic goals and risk appetite.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a credit officer or similar role, preferably in the BFSI industry. • Strong knowledge of credit analysis techniques, financial statement analysis, and credit risk management. • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data. • Proficiency in using credit analysis tools and software, such as Excel and specialized credit evaluation platforms. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders. • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines. • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving credit-related issues. • Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring continuous professional development.
