About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health Service (NISHH) for a Patient Notifications Administratorwithin thecountywide Coding and Results Team (CaRT). NISHH undertake thousands of pathology tests annually as part of the service provided to the residents of Northamptonshire and the wider area in relation to their sexual health needs. Service users can access testing via online platforms and outreach sessions as well as in a clinic setting. The Coding and Results Team play a vital role in results management for the service which includes providing both negative and positive results to our service users in a timely manner and ensuring all clinical and activity coding is recorded correctly.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve result inputting and notification, arranging treatment appointments, discussing sexual histories, checking clinical and activity coding, and liaising with pathology and the medical team with any result abnormalities. The post holder will work closely with the Coding and Results Team Lead, the Senior Nurse, the Health Advisers and the Lead Administrator.

The successful candidate for this post should be an enthusiastic, committed team member, a good communicator and a non-judgmental, discreet individual. Ability to work well under pressure while prioritising competing demands are essential for the role, as well as an understanding of confidentiality within a sexual health service context. Previous NHS experience is desirable alongside knowledge of the services patient electronic record system; Lilie.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience Essential

Educated to A-level standard or with equivalent knowledge and experience Experience of working in an administrative role/office environment previously Experience of using IT systems including Microsoft Office Knowledge of sexual health or a clear passion for the specialism An understanding of issues that affect individuals diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection

Desirable

Experience of working in the NHS Experience and knowledge of sexual health confidentiality laws Experience of ICE, Lilie or other Electronic Patient Records Experience of sexual health datasets including GUMCAD, SHRAD, HARS and of clinical coding relating to them

Behaviours and Values Essential

High level of organisation and time management Ability to remain calm under pressure High levels of communication skills, both verbal and non verbal Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
