Job SummaryYou will serve as a Weight Handling Equipment Superintendent in the Weight Handling Program Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading a mixed workforce of both General Schedule and Wage Grade personnel; 2) Managing operational readiness and deployment of weight handling equipment; 3) Applying extensive knowledge of crane, weight handling and rigging operations procedures, regulations, and processes; 4) Communicating effectively with senior levels of management and military officials to resolve difficulties, acquire information, plan, and advise on issues; AND 5) Developing strategies and business practices for program operation and maintenance of equipment. Major DutiesYou will be responsible for managing all aspects of the weight handling and waterfront support equipment operations, maintenance, and repair.You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities.You will utilize software applications such as word processing tools, spreadsheets, metrics related programs, and data entry tools.You will communicate effectively with senior levels of management and military officials to resolve difficulties, acquire information, plan coordinate, and advise on issues.You will analyze financial and management reports dealing with site operations and evaluate the overall utilization of manpower and resources.You will oversee the planning and direction of product and services relating to lifting and handling operations.You will monitor the performance of organizational units in accomplishing assigned responsibilities.
