Job SummaryYou will serve as a ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the Design and Construction Business Line (DCBL) Core, Construction Division (DC5), NAVFAC Pacific level of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC.
QualificationsThis position has an SPF which is current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show current registration status will not serve to verify you meet this requirement Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Coordinating complex construction facilities designs and construction such as housing, complex weapons and industrial facilities, airfields, etc. maintaining critical operating deadlines, while ensuring policies and processes are followed.2) Developing community management policies, providing professional construction and engineering and related technical support.3) Preparing and presenting status briefs related to scope of work, issues, potential risks, advises on potential impacts and provides recommendations.4) Reviewing, approving contractor's quality, safety programs and environment protection plans to ensure best management practices are followed. Major DutiesYou will resolve complex engineering issues during construction or repair to ensure projects are in accordance with quality standards.You will provide status report updates regarding changes, issues, and potential risk to leadershipYou will review construction documents prior to contract award for engineering soundnessYou will recommend appropriate work methods, practices, procedures and assist in identifying viable solutionsProvides construction support and coordination for projects, develops community management policies, and offers related technical support to ensure adherence to policies and processes.Leads efforts to improve processes by mentoring team members, training staff in construction issue resolution, and recommending efficient work methods and procedures.
