Job SummaryYou will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Overseas Support Branch (C/106B.2) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting investigations of mishaps and/or perform risk assessments in order to develop specific methods for hazard mitigation and injury prevention; issuing safety and occupational health surveys to identify/evaluate risk potential involving hazardous work environments and occupations; developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to management; and applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on and/or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements. Major DutiesYou will identify, analyze, and evaluate a variety of hazards involving complex changing work operations and diverse environmental conditions.You will provide oversight, but not enforcement, of contractor work to ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health standards, regulations and procedures for work performed by contractors while at PHNSY and IMF.You will perform in-briefings (as requested) and to frequently perform on-site ESH evaluations of ship maintenance, repair, overhaul, and refueling, in various industrial shops aboard ships.
