Our focus is on safe and standard-compliant AI, cybersecurity in open data and service ecosystems and AI, as well as automation in mobility and logistics. The AI Engineering department defines and establishes and goal-orientated development processes, methods, and tools for safe and secure AI-based applications. The focus lies on the development and application of safety and security-by-design methods for AI-based components, as well as on the investigation of safe human-AI interaction. Your tasks • Development and testing of robotic systems: robotic systems in the form of service robots and drones based on ROS2 • Implementation and integration: integrating the robotic systems into the IT infrastructure of a VR/AR laboratory • Programming of functionalities: Extending simple scripts and AI functions • Support in the development and optimisation of VR/AR demonstrators: Collaborating on the planning, design and implementation of virtual application scenarios for autonomous mobility and logistics solutions • Testing, fault reproduction and debugging: Carrying out tests to evaluate functionality and performance; rectifying faults and optimising applications Your profile • A student enrolled on a degree programme in robotics, mechatronics or a related technical discipline • Good knowledge of Python or C++ programming • An interest in drones, service robots or autonomous systems • High motivation and a willingness to familiarise yourself with new technologies and tools • Written and spoken English; knowledge of German would be an advantage We offer DLR stands for diversity, appreciation and equality for all people.
