SKIPPER OF A SURVEY BOAT/WORKBOAT 40 hours As a skipper on one of our survey boats, you are an indispensable part of our hydraulic engineering projects. You will primarily work on the survey boat, where you will support our Survey Department in conducting water level surveys and ensure that operations on the water are carried out safely and efficiently. Since our projects take place throughout the Netherlands and the work on the water is project-based, you'll combine this position with the role of skipper on one of our workboats, such as the Herik 6, as needed. As a result, you'll work on a wide variety of hydraulic engineering projects and be versatile within our family-owned business. Job Responsibilities - You are the key link on the water: with your expertise, you safely navigate and maneuver the survey boat or workboat, helping to ensure the smooth execution of our projects. - No two days are the same: you'll sail to various project sites throughout the Netherlands, where you'll perform nautical tasks-such as water level measurements, inspections, and transport operations-and make a significant contribution to the implementation of hydraulic engineering projects. - You keep the equipment in top condition: by performing checks, minor maintenance, and periodic inspections, you ensure that the equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational. - Together, you stay on course: working alongside the Surveyor, the crew, the site supervisor, or the project management team, you ensure that the work is carried out safely and efficiently. Safety always comes first. - You look ahead and adapt to changing circumstances: you carefully maintain records of work, navigation, and maintenance. You identify deviations, malfunctions, and unusual occurrences and report them promptly.
