Your Role As a Business Control Officer, you will play a leading role in establishing and driving the business control function within FMO's Impact Department. This is a newly created position with significant visibility and ownership, offering the opportunity to shape how process governance, risk management, financial control, and compliance are embedded across the department. Working closely with colleagues from Impact, Finance & Integrated Report Management (FIRM), Risk, Partnerships for Impact, Compliance and Audit, you will take ownership of strengthening the department's control environment and driving continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include: - Driving financial oversight of grant-funded programs and delegated partnerships, including compliance with donor requirements and accreditation standards - Building internal capacity in financial procedures best practices, including design of systems and processes that increase process effectiveness and efficiency - Coordinating budgeting, forecasting and business performance reporting activities, working closely with FIRM counterparts - Analyzing program and product (DC) financial performance, balancing internal and external stakeholder needs, to propose and implement improvements - Coordinating and driving the risk monitoring and audit cycles, including reporting to the Impact Management Team - Updating the Impact Department's risk and control framework, as necessary, in the context of increasingly complex programs management. - Strengthening financial management, reporting, governance, and operational processes. - Influencing busine...
