We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Indianapolis, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Completing repair activities on generators or componentsEngaging with customers in a courteous and professional mannerPerform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic toolsMaintain detailed records of serviceAdhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policiesOngoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins productsMaintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision - hands on exposure to working on power generation products.Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch.Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation. Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
Customer service experience
Identify opportunities for additional repairs, maintenance, and system improvements, and communicate recommendations to customers and sales personnel.Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E standards, and company safety policies.Class A CDL recommended but not required.A current valid license is required for this roleThis role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violationsThis role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical3 years driving experienceThis role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use -Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
