Summary:

The Head Athletic Equipment Manager is responsible for developing, planning, and organizing programs for maintaining and purchasing athletic equipment for all High School sports team. The Head Athletic Equipment Manager also prepares and monitors athletic bid and purchases.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and that the same time must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field

• Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Education background, some experience with sports teams preferred

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

• Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the students.

• Ensures a regular daily schedule for student-athletes and coaches to initiate equipment issues or needs.

• Assists with game operations for home games and other events as needed.

Purchases all athletic equipment and apparel according to NPS-MIAA policies. Work with the Assistant to the AD for operations to processes all invoices and receipts to ensure timely payment. Prepare annual bid for equipment.

Responsible for implementing an inventory control system to ensure accurate recording of all purchases, repairs, maintenance, and disposal of athletic equipment and apparel. Monitors the issuance of uniforms, both home and away, to teams, coaches, and individual athletes. Maintains accurate records of uniform and apparel issuance. Monitors the daily maintenance of equipment, which includes laundering and repair of uniforms, and general upkeep of equipment. Arranges for repairs as necessary. Manages the daily operations of the Equipment Rooms and Storage Facilities, ensuring each is operated in a clean, efficient, and effective manner. Oversees laundry operations, ensuring team laundry is done to the correct specifications and health standards. Serves as the liaison with apparel and equipment providers. Ensures team apparel and equipment are appropriately printed prior to distribution. Assists with fitting individual athletes and management of each team's size charts. Coordinates preventative maintenance and cleaning for all locker rooms. Adheres to proper recordkeeping and documentation for all equipment operations. Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures for the Facilities and Operations department within Athletics. Assists, coordinates, and completes special projects as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director. Coordinate with coaches and Assistant AD the preparation work for each season: set up goals, screens, fences, etc.

Work Environment:

• Collaborates with coaches to prepare athletic equipment proposals and order uniforms for their teams. Position is office based and outdoors. Must be able to transport equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
