About this role

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Provides individualized behavior and academic supports to improve student's achievement of individual academic and behavioral goals in support of student's IEP goals and/or Behavior Intervention Plan.

• Maintains records and documentation pertaining to the student.

• Assist teachers with evidence based behavior management techniques by demonstrating, modeling, and positively reinforcing desired behaviors of the student.

• Utilize de-escalation techniques.

• Teaches social skills for replacement behaviors that contribute to disruptive, challenging behaviors.

• Holds the student accountable to behavioral expectations and administers appropriate consequences according to Behavioral Intervention Plan.

• Executes routines and procedures established for the student.

• Provides 1:1 support to the student throughout the school day.

• Participates in staff meetings and professional development activities.

• Participates in IEP meetings, team meetings and parent conferences.

• Performs other duties as directed by the administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered Behavior Technician preferred or experience in a related field (i.e., psychology, behavior analysis, behavior modification).

• Minimum of three years of previous experience with individuals with behavioral challenges is preferred.

• Excellent written and communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Physically fit and able to work with active students.

DUTY YEAR AND SALARY: This is a 188-day position. Salary is based on the appropriate Worcester County Board of Education support salary scale. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
