About this role
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Computer Teacher for grades 3-6 who will integrate the CSO standards for Technology Applications into engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons. The ideal candidate will foster digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and responsible technology use while enhancing students' academic growth through hands-on learning experiences. Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Implementation: Plan, develop, and implement technology lessons aligned with the standards for Technology Applications to develop students' computer literacy and digital fluency.
• Instructional Delivery: Teach students fundamental computer skills, including typing, coding, multimedia presentations, online research, and digital citizenship.
• Technology Integration: Support classroom teachers by integrating technology tools into core subjects, fostering cross-curricular learning.
• Digital Citizenship: Promote ethical and responsible use of technology, including online safety, cyberbullying prevention, and appropriate communication practices.
• Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student performance through formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate records.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-organized learning environment.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on emerging educational technology trends and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Instructional Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Prior teaching experience in technology or computer science preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Moodle, digital design, and learning management systems.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, organization, creativity, and ability to engage elementary students in interactive learning experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with standards for Technology Applications and integrating technology in elementary education.
• Knowledge of learning management systems and educational software.
• Experience with robotics, STEM activities, and coding platforms for young learners.
