St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School JOB DESCRIPTION Title: School Receptionist /Secretary Supervisor: Principal Purpose and Scope This position reports to the School Principal and provides skilled receptionist duties to Parents, School visitors & vendors; provides secretarial services for Faculty and Staff, helps facilitate office and School communication and acts as a minister of hospitality for the School. Assists with helping maintain accurate Student records. Essential Job Functions
• Answers telephones and takes messages.
• Assists visitors in the School office

• Provides back-up assistance to the Principal and office staff.
• Helps assist with coordinating information for new family registration and student records.

• Perform any job-related tasks necessary for the smooth flow of operations within the school. Assist with school communication needs.
• Contributes to team effort for a professional office environment and maintains good working relationships with all parish, school and diocesan staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• Knowledge of general office and secretarial procedures.
• Ability to professionally meet, greet and welcome parents & guests
• Proficient typing skills and working experience of software including Word, Excel Adobe; and Shelby church database.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle stressful situations.
• Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and communicate these decisions effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities and organize work effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma.
• Two years experience working in a related position.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish a plus
