Paraprofessional Job Title: Paraprofessional Department: Mountain Vista Campus Reports To: Principal Salary: Starts at $15.69 /hour and increases depending on experience. Paraprofessional responsible to work on a school bus with student(s) identified with special needs earn an additional $1.00 per hour. SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of certificated staff members to perform a wide variety of duties such as assisting in an instructional setting, in routine clerical tasks, and in the supervision of non-classroom activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist a certified teacher in preparing instructional materials as requested.
• Assist with clerical tasks: copying, laminating, typing, record keeping, etc.
• Assist students individually and in groups with lessons or computer instruction.
• Assist in administering, scoring, and recording diagnostic, achievement, and classroom tests.
• Assist with breakfast/lunch as directed.
• Works with students in a “time out” situation.
• Perform duty assignments as scheduled by the Principal or teacher.
• Alert the teacher to any problems or special information about individual students.
• Assist with the supervision of children while the teacher is in or out of the classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students.
• Provide a positive role model for children.
• Assist and provide direction for substitute teacher when the teacher is absent.
• Arrive to class and duties on time.
• Notify the teacher and office before a planned absence.
• Read and/or review materials/information as requested by the teacher.
• Demonstrate satisfactory work habits and attitudes.
• Follow rules, policies and procedures as adopted by the Governing Board.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.
QUALIFICATION: 1. High School graduate, 2 years post-secondary education or Associate Degree or completion of proficiency test.Ability to communicate and work well with students, staff, parents and the public

SCOPE AND SALARY: 195 day position as an at-will hourly employee based on the support staff salary schedule, with holidays and benefits according to district policy. EVALUATION: To be conducted by the designated Principal.
