Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements: We need an experienced Senior User Researcher with confidence working alongside UCD colleagues and professionals outside our service line, including data and technology teams.We need experience in user-centred, lean and agile research methodologies, including usability testing, contextual enquiry, rapid research, survey development, measurable and evaluative research, and accessibility and inclusive design.We need someone who understands and follows our research standards, the MRS code of practice, and GDPR.We need clear communication skills for working with research participants, including explaining GDPR policies.We need someone who can support the hiring and onboarding of researchers.We value experience in service design, content design, or interaction design.We value a proactive approach to learning, sharing knowledge, and giving and receiving constructive feedback.We value experience delivering good public services, supporting clients, and contributing to the growth and happiness of a UCD community.An SC clearance will be required if successful. Responsibilities: Act as the research subject matter expert on a multidisciplinary team, facilitating the end-to-end research process and communicating research decisions to the team and stakeholders.Scope research so everyone involved has a shared understanding of what success looks like.Select the most appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods when designing a research project.Work as a solo researcher within a multidisciplinary team on client deliveries.Advocate for user research within project delivery and with stakeholders.Plan research that informs the design of public services that are helpful, usable, and successful.Help teams apply a range of methods to analyse research data and synthesise findings.Create compelling and actionable insights suited to the research development phase.Identify key project stakeholders, build relationships, and keep them updated on research progress.Present findings in show and tells and key meetings to project delivery teams and key stakeholders.Analyse and interpret research findings so teams can confidently confirm or challenge their understanding of problems and ideas.Advocate for teams to make decisions based on research findings.Represent our community publicly and internally.Contribute to communities of practice by sharing suggestions, approaches, ideas, and best practice.Take a proactive approach to learning new research methods and analysis techniques, and share knowledge back to the user research community.Seek feedback on your own work and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.Help define our design principles through delivering good public services.
