Requirements: Proven experience in performance and non-functional testing.Strong hands-on experience with JMeter.Experience with load, stress, volume and endurance/soak testing.Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and REST-based services.Experience working with modern cloud and microservices-based environments.Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation practices.Ability to analyse performance results and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience working within Agile delivery teams.Previous public sector or government project experience would be advantageous.Experience with tools such as Gatling, k6, Grafana, Kibana or similar performance and monitoring technologies would be beneficial. Responsibilities: Design, develop and execute performance, load, stress and endurance testing activities.Build and maintain JMeter test scripts and performance test frameworks.Perform API testing and validate system behaviour under varying loads.Analyse performance metrics, identify bottlenecks and provide recommendations for improvement.Work closely with developers, architects and delivery teams to resolve performance issues.Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated testing into delivery processes.Monitor application performance using tools such as Grafana, Kibana or similar observability platforms.Contribute to overall quality engineering activities including test planning, defect management and release assurance. We are seeking a Quality Engineer / Performance Tester to support the delivery of large-scale digital services for one of our local clients. This role is inside IR35, offers a rate of £310 per day, and requires 3 days per week in the office with 2 days working from home. The location can be London, Manchester or Leicester. We are looking for someone to help ensure applications are scalable, reliable and performant through performance testing, API testing and quality engineering practices.
