About this role
Applications are invited for the full-time permanent post of Lecturer in Computing (Front-end, UI/UX Development) with the Department of Computer Science at Galway City campus.
Applicants should have a strong track record in computing/software development as applied to front-end, UI/UX design and development or a closely related area. Applicants should also have a strong interest in collaborative teaching and a passion for student development.
The successful appointee will be expected to use the experience that they bring to make contributions to the further development of teaching and/or research activities within the Department of Computer Science and the wider School of Computing. The Department currently delivers a range of Level 8 undergraduate and post-graduate taught programmes. The Department has just recently launched a new Level 9 M.Sc. in Computing in January 2025 which has been very sucessful. The Department also has a small number of post-graduate research students, both at Level 9 and Level 10, and has plans to steadily grow its current outward engagement and research activity, working in collaboration with industrial partners as well as with other departments in the School of Computing and the wider University.
Essential Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in a relevant Level 9 programme in computing/software development preferably as applied to front-end, UI/UX development or a closely related discipline area [Level 9 as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)] or equivalent. Three years relevant post-qualification experience. (Post Level 8 Qualification experience)
