About this role

Job summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Radiographers, with NHS/UK experience to deliver exceptional patient care across our diverse Imaging Directorate. We are passionate to invest in staff development and health and wellbeing. The Imaging Directorate provides 24/7 service delivery and are investing in the upgrade and modernisation of equipment and facilities. As a Band 5 Radiographer, you'll build a broad range of clinical skills by working across multiple clinical areas and patient pathways. You'll play an important role in providing a safe and high-quality patient care to adults, children and young people, working closely within multidisciplinary teams therefore strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. You will be part of a 7-day shift system covering out-of-hours service including nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake radiographic examinations, seeking guidance where necessary, and work as part of a team providing a caring and effective imaging service. Working independently within their scope of practice, the successful candidate will assess workload demands and patients' ability to cooperate with examinations. Effective communication with colleagues and patients is essential, alongside a patient-centred approach to ensure individual needs are met.

Responsibility for maintaining accurate records and adhering to departmental protocols forms a key part of the role. All practice must comply with IRR2017 and IR(ME)R2017 requirements. Professional standards will be maintained in accordance with the Society of Radiographers' Code of Conduct, with ongoing commitment to CPD and continuous service improvement.

The successful candidate will contribute to the training and supervision of student radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.

Safe and competent use of imaging equipment is required, including reporting faults promptly, carrying out daily equipment checks and participating in the quality assurance programme. High standards of infection control, with compliance to Trust infection prevention and control policies. Awareness of, and adherence to, relevant Trust policies are expected, together with participation in mandatory training.

This is a physically demanding role and may involve exposure to body fluids, severely traumatised patients and challenging behaviour.
