Job summary
To provide a high standard of specialist physiotherapy service to a widerange of Physiotherapy in-patients. This post consists of 9 monthlyrotations in the following clinical areas:- Health Services for Elderly People. (HSEP)- Rapid Response ( A+E and acute medicine )- Oncology- Respiratory- General surgery and Liver Transplantation- Renal- Vascular Surgery and Amputees
Main duties of the job
? To assess and treat own caseload of patients as an autonomous andindependent practitioner for patients who may have acute, chroniccomplex presentation, and maintain appropriate treatment plans, and/or records and statistics.- To participate in the weekend and on call rota- Supervise and teach junior therapists, students and assistants- To be involved in the teaching of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), staff and patient education groups.-Undertake and present evidence-based projects and research including departmental audit and suggesting practice changes, under the supervision of line supervisor.

Experience Essential
oActive participation in an audit or project work oGood understanding of relevant clinical guidelines oBroad range of clinical experience at a Band 5 level or above oExperience of working in an acute, hospital-based setting, including working within an MDT oPresentations to a range of groups oTeaching/training of staff or students oSupervision of more junior staff, assistants and/students oComputer literate, to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office oEvidence of CPD oExperience of weekend working and emergency on-call working
