Job summary
The Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair and installation service of the buildings, grounds, engineering services and associated equipment throughout the Trust.
You must hold a recognised trade apprenticeship and a minimum qualification of BTEC, ONC, HNC or similar certificate or equivalent qualification/experience and previous electro-mechanical maintenance experience would be advantageous as would being conversant with Health & Safety issues.
You must hold a current UK (manual) driving licence and reside within half an hour normal travel time to fulfil on-call duties.
The role is Monday - Friday plus opportunities for overtime and weekend working.
Salary: £39,959 - £48,117 per annum (Band 5) plus local RRP (£3,500 pa) and an approximate £1,000 on-call retainer.

Experience Essential
Substantial experience managing a multi-disciplinary teams / contractors in the built environment Experience in using computer aided facilities management (CAFM) software Experience of working in the Construction or Healthcare Building services industry including site supervision of contractors

Technical Skills Competencies Essential
Experience of management / maintenance of Fire Doors Experience of working in Confined spaces / working at Height Good communication skills with the ability to deal with staff at all levels of the organisation. Ability to explain complex and technical information to a range of audiences both specialist and non-specialist. Good organisational and planning skills

Previous experience of being an authorised person
Knowledge Essential
Thorough knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and statutory policies & procedures relevant to managing relevant to the management of public buildings, construction & building maintenance

Full driving licence & prepared to travel between sites. Professional, calm and efficient manner Effective organiser

Degree in construction or building services plus specialist training and knowledge to diploma level or equivalent experience gained through a relevant apprenticeship plus additional knowledge and experience gained through training, short courses and CPD
