Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a role where your care can make a meaningful difference every day? Join our community team in Lincolnshire and help provide personalised, dignified end-of-life care that supports people to remain at home, including in residential homes.
Main duties of the job
In this rewarding role, you will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping people feel safe, comfortable and respected at a highly important time in their lives. You will support individual care plans by assisting with personal care, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, mobility, rest and sleep, and maintaining a clean and safe care environment.
You will also play an important part in observing and responding to changes in a persons condition, supporting symptom management within the agreed care plan, and escalating any concerns promptly to registered healthcare professionals. Just as importantly, you will offer calm, sensitive and professional communication to patients and those important to them, helping to preserve dignity, choice and wellbeing.

Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they are likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives. We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life.

Contract Type: As & When
Job Shifts: Night shifts between 20:00 and 08:00, with the service operating 365 days a year
Salary: Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 2, aligned with AFC, at £12.92 per hour. Enhanced pay applies for weekend and bank holiday shifts, with uplifts of up to 41% for Saturdays and up to 83% for Sundays and bank holidays
Location: Community-based in Lincolnshire covering Boston, Grantham and Lincoln
What we are looking for:
Relevant recent experience providing care in a Health or Social Care Environment, including caring for patients at the end of life. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification. Be person-centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them. Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans that meet the complex needs of the person, and those important to them. Emotional resilience and the capacity to work independently. Access to a personal vehicle, a valid driving license and business insurance. You must be able to travel to the Lincoln, Boston and Grantham bases as required.What's in it for you:

Qualifications Essential
National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care OR an equivalent alternative Level 2 Qualification

Experience Essential
Recent experience providing care in a health or social care setting, with knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care. Experience of care in a community setting, assisting in curating individual assessments.
