Description We are seeking a hands-on IT Manager to lead and support all aspects of the company's IT operations within a research environment. This individual will serve as the primary on-site IT leader, partnering closely with internal teams and leadership to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations across the organization.
Responsibilities
• Manage team performance through goal setting and talent management, provide guidance, mentoring and development opportunities for the staff.
• Oversee operational costs, conduct near along with long-term financial estimates for expanded functionality and user base;
• Design and execute short plus long term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs; develops and maintains the selection of the organization's business software, integration technology and applications disciplines;
• Supervise outsourced data center and telecom service provider and lead, direct and utilize knowledge on best practices in area related to infrastructure;
• Supervise help desk group and lead, direct and utilize knowledge on best practices in area related to help desk; IT asset management inclusive of component inventory maintenance and associated documentation;
• Define and manage IT Disaster Recovery Strategy for organization; ensures network security, anticipates any necessary additional improvements, offers and ensures the good management and use of the company's internal and external networks;
• Supporting the push to outside digital service offerings and our exploration of internal AI use;
• Proposes policies and procedures that will reduce the number of interruptions for users and external members and partners;
• Report and prepare strategies to maintain server infrastructure;
• Ensure apt security levels on network, infrastructure and servers are maintained;
• Negotiate with outsourcers, vendors and contractors for infrastructure-specific products and services secure;
• Perform feasibility studies for different upgrade projects, conversions and improvements;
• Promote and enforce health and safety practices in a responsible and proactive manner and ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar;
• 8-12+ years in relevant IT positions;
• 3+ years of experience in leadership;

• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken);
