JOB SUMMARY:
The Industrial Painter will paint sheet metal and/ or heavy steel frames or similar metal surfaces with a spray gun inside an oversized ventilated spray booth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Knowledge of paints, thinners, cleaning agents, and other materials utilized in the cleaning, painting, and finishing of parts related equipment
• Follows safety practices associated with the use of painting equipment, tools and work practices utilized to perform the primary duties;
• Knows methods of preparing different surfaces for painting, including bare surfaces as well as previously painted surfaces
• Performs maintenance on equipment as required for primary duties
• Operates equipment associated with the performance of primary duties such as air compressors, high pressure air gun, sanders, painting equipment, and hand tools with minimal supervision or technical direction
• Understands and follows oral and written directions
• Prepares reports of work performed as well logging in all daily work performed using a computer or tablet
• Establishes and maintains an effective relationship with others
• Mixes, blends, and prepares paint and other coating systems for primary duties
• Demonstrates commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programs
• Complies with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
• Methods, procedures, equipment and tools of the trades as they relate to assigned area.
• Methods of preparing a variety of surfaces for painting and finish work.
• Communicate effectively with others.

• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
• Seeing well enough to mix and match paint colors.
• Climbing ladders, balancing, bending, pushing, pulling, standing for extended periods, walking, reaching overhead and above the shoulders, squatting, kneeling and twisting.
• Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Full dexterity of hands and fingers to operate painting equipment and tools.
PAY RANGE:
• $18.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on experience and spray test results
• Weekly pay
SHIFT:
• 1st shift; Monday to Thursday; 4:45 AM to 3:30 PM
