Job summary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.
Pre-interview test
At the start of your interview time slot, you will be required to sit the UHNM Maths & English test (Total of 6 questions) and need to gain 6/6 to proceed to the formal interview.
You will have 15 minutes to complete the test. If a candidate has any additional needs which includes learning difficulties such as dyslexia, the time can be doubled to 30 minutes. If this is the case, you will need to let the interview panel know prior to your test starting that additional time is required.
Qualification evidence
Please bring evidence of your Maths and English qualifications to your interview, this can be GCSEs, Functional Skills or overseas equivalent certificates. For overseas qualifications please bring an ECCTIS comparability statement showing UK comparability.
If you have a Care Certificate or NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care/Equivalent qualification, please bring this in addition to the above.
Main duties of the job
The Endoscopy Support Worker will assist in the provision of specialised care within the clinical area.
The post holder will be responsible for a range of clinical, non clinical and clerical support tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse working within their scope of practice.
The role is key to the delivery of excellence in care and service improvement and requires effective communication skills as well as collaborative working as part of the Multidisciplinary Team.
The role will require the post holder to ensure they are kept up to date with all Statutory and Mandatory training and to undertake specific training relating to Endoscopy including the JETS workforce competencies.
The ideal candidate will have good communications skills and work as part of the wider team.
The post holder will be responsible for a range of clinical, non clinical and clerical support tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse working within their scope of practice.
Cross site working across any of the 3 sites may be needed.

Job description Job responsibilities
Accurately monitor, record and report variations in vital signs of patients in their care to the Registered Nurse. Support with the admission and discharge process of patients within the Endoscopy units. The post holder will be required to work in different areas of the Endoscopy Undertake blood glucose monitoring and accurate reporting of the results to the Registered Nurse. Undertake urinalysis and pregnancy testing and accurate reporting of the results to the Registered Nurse. Following training and supervision the Endoscopy Support Worker will be competent in the removal of peripheral cannula. The Endoscopy Support Worker will be responsible for ensuring the procedure rooms are prepared ready for procedures in a timely manner. Participate with preparation for JAG and CQC visits. Support with the induction and training of new staff to the Endoscopy Units The post holder will be required to provide and receive routine information requiring tact or persuasive skills. Maintain good standards of communication both in written and oral form within the multidisciplinary team. Maintain excellent communication with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team regarding all aspects of care, demonstrating a variety of communication skills in accordance with the client group. Ensure that all barriers to understanding are overcome by using different strategies including verbal and nonverbal communication. Ensure confidentiality is always maintained The post holder will ensure prompt reporting of any relevant information regarding patients or unit users including observation of progress or deterioration in the patients condition. Provide and promote health education specific to the clinical area and in line with local and national policies and guidance. Participates in the promotion and collation of patient feedback within the department. NVQ Level 3 or working towards this qualification. The post holder will be required to have a higher level of knowledge which is evident based in line with Trust and National Guidance of best practice. Ensure compliance with Statutory and Mandatory training. Participate in training, supervision and assessment of competences to undertake designated clinical duties. Undertakes a range of delegated duties clinical care duties relevant to the specific clinical area. Complete a training and competency framework related to Endoscopy practice. To participate in personal objective setting and review, including the creation of a personal development plan and the Trusts appraisal process.
