About this role

Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of excellent clinical care within the Intensive Care Unit working in close collaboration with the nursing, medical and wider multidisciplinary team. You will support the Critical Care team in caring for patients who are critically unwell with a wide variety of clinical tasks and care.

Main duties of the job As a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional, your role is to contribute significantly to the care of critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit, while also supporting the entire multidisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean, safe environment in accordance with infection control and health and safety policies. You will assist the senior team members in ensuring that all equipment is in proper working order, taking prompt action to facilitate repairs or to escalate issues when necessary. Moreover, you will play a vital role in maintaining minimum stock levels and following local procedures for ordering and checking the delivery of both clinical and non-clinical supplies for the department. The dynamic and fast-paced nature of this environment will provide ample opportunities for personal and professional growth, enhancing your communication and team-building skills. Your progress and development will be supported through competency-based training and assessment, with guidance and monitoring from the unit's practice development team. A key aspect of your role will be to contribute to the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care, always prioritizing patient safety and adhering to national, local, and trust practices.
