About this role

Job summary

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.

Pre-interview testAt the start of your interview time slot, you will be required to sit the UHNM Maths & English test (Total of 6 questions) and need to gain 6/6 to proceed to the formal interview.

You will have 15 minutes to complete the test. If a candidate has any additional needs which includes learning difficulties such as dyslexia, the time can be doubled to 30 minutes. If this is the case, you will need to let the interview panel know prior to your test starting that additional time is required.

Qualification evidencePlease bring evidence of your Maths and English qualifications to your interview, this can be GCSEs, Functional Skills or overseas equivalent certificates. For overseas qualifications please bring an ECCTIS comparability statement showing UK comparability.

If you have a Care Certificate or NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care/Equivalent qualification, please bring this in addition to the above.

The post holder will be responsible for:

The primary role of a Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care The Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well-being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion. They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses. Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM. They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent. Key to this role is flexibility with the requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week on a week-by-week basis within agreed limits

Experience Essential

Qualifications Essential

Numeracy/Literacy skills to Level 1 (GCSE Grade 2-3, D-F or equivalent) IELTS or OETS (Overall score of C1) accepted for overseas applicants (Level 7 in Listening/speaking/reading & Level 6.5 in Writing) Care Certificate or must complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment

Desirable

NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care/Equivalent qualification or willing/required to complete if successful (If applicant has 3 years or more care experience this is voluntary).
