About this role

As a Senior Manager, Data Management Embedment within the Group Data Management Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will play a key role in shaping and advancing the Group's data management capabilities. You will lead initiatives that drive the adoption of enterprise data management practices, enabling Business Units and Technology teams to embed robust controls, improve data quality and strengthen governance outcomes at scale.

You will partner with Data Product teams, technology platform owners and business stakeholders to embed data management requirements into scalable and sustainable business processes and enabling technology. You will help influence the design of future-state capabilities, establish technology-enabled guardrails, and help uplift the maturity of data management practices across one of Australia's leading organisations.

This role sits at the intersection of policy enablement and engineering. You'll work with development teams to operationalise data management policies, building tools, integrations, and automated controls enabling teams to adopt requirements consistently and at scale.

Your work will directly contribute to:

• Improving the quality, integrity and trustworthiness of the Group's data assets;

• Enabling the successful adoption of enterprise data management controls and practices;

• Strengthening governance, risk management and regulatory outcomes;

• Supporting the delivery of strategic data and transformation initiatives; and

• Building sustainable data management capabilities that create long-term value for the organisation.

The Group Data Management Centre of Excellence establishes enterprise policies, standards, frameworks and governance that enable trusted data to be managed consistently across the Group. We partner closely with Business Units, Technology, Risk and Compliance to uplift Data Management capability and ensure effective management of data throughout its lifecycle.

We are seeking people who are:

• Knowledgeable in core data processing concepts such as data pipelines, transformation, orchestration and data lineage, with the ability to engage effectively with engineering teams on design and implementation decisions.

• Experienced with modern data processing architectures, with an appreciation of API and streaming concepts, and how real time data flows can be leveraged across enterprise systems.

• Skilled at translating enterprise policy, regulatory and risk requirements into practical, scalable and sustainable business outcomes.

• Strong influencers who can build alignment and drive adoption of new ways of working, processes and capabilities across diverse stakeholder groups without direct authority.

• Collaborative leaders who can navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities and build trusted relationships across Business and Technology.

• Excellent communicators who can simplify complex concepts and articulate a clear vision to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Passionate about advancing enterprise data management capability and driving meaningful change at scale.

We are also interested in people who have:

• Demonstrated experience in Data Management, Risk Management, Operational Risk or Governance.

• Experience developing enterprise frameworks, controls and standards.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and executive influencing capability.

• Knowledge of industry Data Management practices including BCBS239, DAMA and regulatory expectations.

• Experience working across large-scale transformation programs.

• Excellent consulting, facilitation and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work with ambiguity while driving practical outcomes.

• A continuous improvement mindset.
