About this role
[What the role is] As a Mechanical Engineer, you will represent HDB in working with consultants and contractors across the full project lifecycle — from design and construction through to post-construction. You will play a key role in ensuring that Mechanical Engineering Systems in HDB developments meet the highest standards, while also serving as a technical resource for stakeholders and keeping HDB's systems current with evolving needs and technologies. [What you will be working on] 1. Construction: Ensure the installation of Mechanical Engineering Systems by contractors meets HDB's standards and requirements.
• Conduct audit tests on Mechanical Engineering Systems upon completion. • Uphold standards of Mechanical Engineering Systems audit tests and checks. • Ensure compliance with specifications, authorities' requirements, regulations, and relevant codes. • Regularly review design briefs, guide drawings, and standard and supplementary specifications.
2. Technical Support: Provide technical support on Mechanical Engineering matters to facilitate stakeholders in handling feedback related to Mechanical Engineering Systems.
• Provide technical training to Town Councils and other stakeholders. • Provide technical support to Project Directors and other Groups on Mechanical Engineering matters. • Be the contact person with authorities and go-to person for advice on Mechanical Engineering matters.
3. Technical Studies: Keep the provision of Mechanical Engineering Systems up-to-date to meet the changing needs of residents, incorporating new requirements of authorities and adopting suitable new applications and technologies.
• Explore feedback on Mechanical Engineering Systems from resident survey results, media, communication channels, new suppliers, suppliers of new technology or applications, etc. • Attend briefings and have dialogue and consultation with authorities, standards organisations, etc. • Conduct in-house studies and follow up on implementation.
4. Public Relations Management:
• Manage public complaints, feedback, and Advisor requests and comments. • Handle public communications.
5. Post-Construction Technical Support:
• Assist in identifying issues and resolving cases for older blocks. • Work with relevant stakeholders to manage feedback.
6. Organisational Improvement: Carry out improvement studies to support operations within the organisation.

• A background in Engineering, Building, or a related discipline. • Meticulous and able to work independently, with an eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership. • A pleasant disposition and strong communication skills to work effectively with contractors, colleagues, and residents.
Shortlisted candidate(s) will be offered a 1+1 year contract.
