About this role
[What the role is] This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Accountancy in the School of Business & Accountancy. [What you will be working on] As a Lecturer, you will:
• Develop and deliver curriculum (including online courses) and assessments for full-time and part-time courses for students and adult learners.
• Supervise student projects and internships with industry partners.
• Counsel and mentor students to support their learning and personal development, provide education and career guidance, and coach them for competitions.
• Undertake academic-related administration and committee work, support outreach activities and study trips, and ad-hoc projects that support the school’s mission.
• Plan, lead, manage and develop industry projects.
[What we are looking for]
• At least 3 years’ relevant industry experience. Prior teaching experience (part-time or full-time) will be an advantage.
• A nurturing mindset with passion for working with young adults and mature learners.
• Ability to use innovative teaching strategies to motivate learners.
• Working experience or competency in AI, analytics, automation/RPA, cloud accounting and/or sustainability or climate accounting/reporting.
• Ability to teach intermediate/advanced financial accounting or taxation will also be an advantage
• Competent to plan, develop and teach accounting-related modules and manage collaborative initiatives with industry partners.
• Agile and adaptable and able to multitask whilst working independently as well as in a team setting
