Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our world languages department. The ideal candidate will foster a vibrant, immersive learning environment that inspires students to develop both linguistic proficiency and cultural appreciation. You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and encouraging a deep understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. Key Responsibilities 1. Instruction & Curriculum Design
• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and proficiency levels. • Integrate cultural components (history, art, literature, and traditions) from various Spanish-speaking countries into the daily curriculum. • Promote communicative competence by encouraging students to speak, read, write, and listen in the target language. • Utilize a variety of instructional technologies and digital tools to enhance language acquisition. 2. Classroom Management & Student Support
• Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture. • Set clear academic and behavioral expectations for all students. • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, exams, and projects. • Offer extra support or differentiation for students who require accommodation or acceleration. 3. Collaboration & Professional Engagement
• Collaborate with fellow world language teachers to align curriculum and share best practices. • Maintain open, professional communication with parents, guardians, and administration regarding student progress. • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events. Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Spanish Education, Linguistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). • Certification: Valid state teaching credential/license in World Languages (Spanish) for the appropriate grade level. • Language Proficiency: Near-native or native fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English. • Experience: Prior experience teaching Spanish in a middle or high school setting is preferred. • Skills: Strong classroom management, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with educational technology (e.g., Google Classroom, language learning software).
