About this role
North Reading Public Schools is seeking an Academic Interventionist to support students in Grades 6-12. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential. The Academic Interventionist works closely with educators and provides direct services to students to improve student learning. You will be successful in this position if you can model best practices, as well as collaborate and communicate frequently with classroom educators and parents/guardians to best support student success in the areas of literacy and math. The anticipated work schedule is Tuesday - Friday, 16 hours per week. Tentatively scheduled as follows: 11:00 AM-3:00 PM. Essential Duties:
• Continue delivery of the school's intervention program
• Collaborate with classroom educators for instructional planning and delivery
• Collect and interpret relevant assessment data to drive instruction
• Communicate specific student progress to educators, administrators, and parents/guardians as appropriate
• Prepare and deliver explicit, scientifically based math/literacy instruction to small groups of students
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to math and/or literacy as assigned by the supervisor
• Deliver progress monitoring assessments
• Perform other duties assigned by the building Principal and/or their Designee
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in in related content area(s) and grade levels
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing student learning data, setting goals, measuring progress, and instructional coaching
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Collaborative working demeanor
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
