Production Manager - Pharmacy Technical Services

Full Time - Average of 37.5 hours/week across a 7 day working rota (with a maximum weekend commitment of 1 in 4)

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Pharmacy Production Specialist to join our well-established team in Technical Services. As a department we constantly strive to re-engineer our services to improve our delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and customer satisfaction.

The MHRA licenced 'Specials' pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a purpose-built unit within the hospital. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy, over labelling and re-packaging products, supplying both the Trust and external organisations. We are currently scoping out an isolator replacement programme.

As Production Manager you will be expected to have recent extensive experience of working in a Pharmacy aseptic unit and be eligible to be named Head of Production under the MHRA Licence.

Main duties of the job

Working with the other Production Manager you will proactively contribute to the further development of the service.

Be responsible and accountable for leading and the delivery of the sterile manufacturing services at UHNM including systemic anticancer therapies (SACT), adult and paediatric nutrition, CIVA's services, over labelling and repackaging service under the MHRA Manufacturer's 'Specials' Licence together with the other Production Manager Be Pharmacy lead for Intra-Thecal Chemotherapy Ensure the delivery of a safe, effective, and high-quality service, including prioritising activity during periods of constraint and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to optimise productivity Support the strategic oversight and continuous development of the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS), including review and approval of data trends and critical documentation Act as a senior point of contact for regulatory bodies, overseeing responses to inspections, complaints, errors, and incidents, including the implementation of appropriate correctiveand preventative actions (CAPA) This is a great time to be a part of the Pharmacy Technical Services Team at UHNM.

Essential Qualifications Essential

Master's degree in pharmacy (MPharm), BSc, MSc, Level 3 or SMT Significant experience in pharmaceutical preparation activities Professional registration Postgraduate Qualification Releasing Officer in a MHRA Licensed Unit or eligible to undertake this training Eligible to be named as Head of Production on the MHRA Licence

Desirable

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification Formal management and / or leadership qualification

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience Essential

Extensive hospital pharmacy experience post registration Recent, extensive experience of working at a senior level within a pharmacy manufacturing unit or a related industry Experience of external inspections including MHRA and CQC Management experience and / or experience of staff recruitment and appraisal Demonstrates a knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice for medicinal products, particularly in regard to aseptic facilities and operations Experience of managing and developing a service

Desirable

Experience of writing business cases Knowledge, experience and understanding the clinical trials process Evidence of involvement in pharmacy practice-based research and / or audit
