We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team, providing specialist occupational therapy services to children and young people across Buckinghamshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate clinician who enjoys working in partnership with families, schools and other professionals to help children achieve their full potential through evidence-based, child-centred therapy.
Main duties of the job
Working across homes, schools and community settings, you will assess, plan and deliver bespoke occupational therapy interventions for children and young people with a wide range of developmental, neurodevelopmental, physical and sensory needs.
We are looking for a therapist who has:
A recognised qualification in Occupational TherapyHCPC registrationIdeally 35 years' post-qualification experienceExperience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We would particularly welcome applications from Occupational Therapists with experience supporting children with one or more of the following:
Sensory Processing Differences (post-graduate Sensory Integration training and experience would be desirable)Neurodevelopmental conditionsDevelopmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), delayed motorskills and difficulties with gross and fine motor developmentGlobal Developmental Delay and learning difficultiesDevelopmental Language Disorder (DLD), language disorders and social communication difficultiesSpecial Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)Emotional wellbeing needs, including anxiety and depressionHypermobility, muscle weakness and other musculoskeletal conditions affecting movement and function.Neurological and physical disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and ScoliosisVisual and hearing impairments, adapting interventions to meet individual needsFeeding, eating and drinking difficulties/dysphagia

About the Role

You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop individualised therapy programmes and provide practical recommendations that support children to participate more fully in everyday activities.
We are looking for a therapist who has:
A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy HCPC registration Ideally 3–5 years' post-qualification experience within paediatric occupational therapy Experience working with children and young people across home, school and community settings Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and report writing skills Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships The ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team
