Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our CAMHS Tier 4 Alternative to Admission Day Hospital and Home Treatment service. Our service provides interventions for young people(ages 12-18) presenting with complex mental health issues including eating disorders, psychosis and mania, OCD and emotion dysregulation requiring Tier-4 level care, but who benefit from a more flexible,community based approach.
Working within an innovative and supportive multidisciplinary team and supported by senior clinicians, you will deliver high-quality psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions. You will support with risk management and liaise with external agencies where required.You will contribute to the team's learning culture through supervision, mentoring and training, while championing diversity, inclusion, and trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practice to improve outcomes for service users and staff.
We are based at Wokingham Hospital but require the need for flexibility to support the delivery of our home treatment pathway.

Main duties of the job
Assessment and Formulation: Conduct clinical assessments and develop clear and detailed psychological formulation of the service user's presenting difficulties. Treatment Planning: In collaboration with the service user, carers,and multi-disciplinary colleagues, develop personalised treatment plans based on service user needs,assessment findings, formulation of the presenting problems, and evidence of effectiveness to support recovery goals and improve quality of life.
Individual and Group Interventions: Deliver evidence based psychological interventions using a range of models, specialist techniques and modalities, and adapting interventions based on evolving needs and formulations.
Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary team clinicians and multi-agency representatives to ensure the delivery of integrated and psychologically informed care, coordinating and leading this when required.
Supervision and Training: In line with experience and development plans, provide supervision and mentorship to junior clinicians and trainees, contributing to their professional development and enhancing the interventions they offer.
Research and Development:Regularly undertake applied research that contributes to the evidence base for clinical practice, as well as participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of services.

Education/Qualifications/Training Essential
Postgraduate doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996 or for those who completed their training overseas) Registered as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) (Eligibility for) Chartered Membership of British Psychological Society (BPS)
Desirable
Additional training and accreditations (or working towards these) in relevant therapeutic approaches or psychological models to reflect post qualification interests/ specialism (e.g., specific therapy models and accreditations, Health Psychology, Neuropsychology etc).
Continuous Professional Development Essential
Evidence of training and/or interest and knowledge in psychological models or therapeutic approaches relevant to the post Commitment to continuing professional development as recommended by the relevant accrediting body
Experience Essential
Experience of working in evidence-based ways with services users (and their carers/families) presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the range of settings, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse Experience of dealing with highly distressing or emotional circumstances, such as serious mental illness, child and sexual abuse, exploitation, and complex family dynamics Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency environments Experience of service development and carrying out clinical audits, evaluative research and applying the findings Experience of working with, and addressing, issues of diversity, including experience of working with diversity, multiculturalism, and equality of access to the service
