Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our team on a permanent, part to full-time basis, working between 24 and 27 hours per week.
The role will involve a combination of four 6-hour morning and afternoon/evening shifts, together with 3-hour rotational Saturday morning shifts.
Shift patterns:
Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 2:00pmMonday to Friday: 2:00pm - 8:00pmSaturday mornings: 9:00am - 12:00pm (approximately 1-2 Saturdays per month)The advertised pay range will be dependent on experience and is inclusive of enhanced rates for evening and weekend working.
The candidate must have experience working in primary/secondary care and have a phlebotomy qualification/experience and a level 3/4 healthcare qualification.
Further clinical skills and experience with wound care, vaccinating, ECG and health checks are strongly advantageous.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a competent HCA with experience in primary/secondary care who is willing to learn additional skills.
This is an in-person role and the ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work to Farnham, GU9 9QS is essential.
At FICS we have a team of clinicians who work as an extension of the Farnham GP Practice services. Our HCA's provide a variety of clinical tasks within a dedicated clinic, working closely with clinicians and our Admin team.

Phlebotomy (essential)
ECG
Completing NHS health checks for eligible patients
Wound care - dressings and stitch removal
Diabetic reviews
Injections and vaccinating
BP monitoring
Stock ordering, supplies maintenance
Chaperoning duties
Clinical support for specialist clinics, i.e Coils.
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of clinical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment including equipment checks before, during and after patient care interventions
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients.
Using all clinical systems to update patient records on EMIS.

Qualifications Essential
Healthcare qualification Level 3 or 4 (or working towards gaining equivalent level) General Practice Care Certificate Qualified in Phlebotomy with experience
Desirable
Advanced clinical skills and experience in wound care, vaccinating and health checks is strongly advantageous
