About this role

Job summary

A2 is a 42 bedded unit who has 24/7 admissions for acute stroke. We take patients from all Wakefield and Dewsbury areas and from Barnsley. We have some funding from South West Yorkshire.

We have a Band 6 Sister on every shift 24/7 so flexibility is a must, and you are responsible for driving standards and coordinating the shift to ensure we meet the needs of the service and our patients.

Main duties of the job

To summarise the main duties you will need to have very good extensive experience in acute stroke care,, as you are there to support your team of nurses.

Being a good communicator is essential as you will communicate with a large range of people every day. Driving high standards through audit and leadership is a must. You will ensure patient flow is a achieved and advocate for our patients and carers. You will become a link worker and manage projects to improve standards and care.
