Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a registered adult nurse to join our friendly and dynamic clinical team at Somer Valley Medical Group. The role will be delivering all general practice treatment room duties to our patient population with opportunities for career development.
We are looking for a motivated, innovative, and ambitious nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally you will have some previous community nursing experience, however it would also suit a nurse who wants to pursue a career within general practice.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care to the practice population using autonomous clinical skills and a broad in depth theoretical knowledge base.
The post holder will manage a diverse clinical case load and provide clinical nursing services within treatment room clinics, including wound management, adult and childrens vaccinations, and national screening programs within the professional competence of the post holder.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures and all duties will be carried out in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

Experience Essential
A Minimum of 18 Months post registration experience Administration of medications under PSDs/PGDs/VGDs Computer skills Experience of using an electronic Patient record System either TPP System One, EMIS Web or similar. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally Time management skills and able to work autonomously managing own workload. Full Driving license with own car/transport available.
Desirable
Primary Care experience, either as a community nurse or a General Practice nurse Doppler assessments Compression therapy Venepuncture Wound Care Cervical Cytology (Sample Taker) Travel Health Vaccinations (adults/childrens) Participation in audits, quality improvement initiatives or projects Experience of training and supporting non-registered staff (nursing assistants or nursing associates) Flexibility
Qualifications Essential
BSc Hons in Adult Nursing or Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) in Nursing Current NMC Registration (Level 1) Adult Nurse
Desirable
Post-Graduation study or training courses in topics allied to General Practice or Community nursing. Teaching/Mentor Qualification.
