Job summary Occupational Therapy Assistant The Forum School Up to £27,491.32- Dependant on experience- Pro rata salary for 39 weeks is £23094.94 40 hours a week, Term time only The Forum School is a 38-52 week school and home for children and young people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Main duties of the job Located in the glorious Dorset countryside with 28 acres of land for play and relaxation, the school boasts of many facilities such as a theatre, sports hall, indoor and outdoor riding areas, climbing wall, multiple safe play areas and a swimming pool. Children and young people have full access to the National Curriculum with teaching appropriately differentiated to meet their needs. In addition, The Forum School draws upon a proven programme of specialist education and 24 hour care with a wide range of clinical and therapeutic inputs.
About us We are looking for an enthusiastic and interested individual to work as part of the Occupational Therapy (OT) team at the school. This post will combine clinical and administrative support roles: you will work directly with individual students or groups to deliver therapy programmes, under the direction of the senior OT, in classroom and residential settings, support the OT in assessment of students functional skills, report on student progress, provide support with resources for individuals and contribute to the development of the Sensory Environment. You will receive regular supervision and, as part of the Cambian OT service, be eligible for training.

Candidate Profile It is essential that the successful candidate has an interest in developing students functional skills, and meeting sensory needs and have worked with children previously, preferably with children with special needs. Basic IT skills and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a busy team are essential for all aspects of this post. A successful candidate will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post. Experience working with ASD/Experience in a school.
